Sam Offord

Sam competed in the 2009 World Championships Selection Trial 2 and came out on top with scores of:

Floor - 13.65, Pommels - 13.50, Rings - 15.25, Vault (15.35 and 13.40), P/Bars 13.85, H/Bars 13.95 = All Around 85.55

Sam will be travelling to the World Championships in London's O2 Arena with fellow team members:

• Prashanth Sellathurai -          Pommels and Rings
• Phillippe Rizzo -                    P/Bars and H/Bar
• Sam Simpson -                     Floor and Pommels (AA Reserve)
• Josh Jeffreris -                       Rings and P/Bars
• Luke Wiwatoski -                   Floor and High Bar

The first selection trial was at the Nationals Championships in Queensland, where of course Sam was crowned 2009 All Around National Champion. 

From 13th to 18th October 2009 the World Gymnastic Championships will be held in London for the first time. The championships will give a strong indication of which world-class gymnasts will be defending their positions in 2012, and who will be the rising stars that will challenge them.

The Championships will see outstanding performances from the best gymnasts in the world representing China, Japan, USA, Romania, Russia, Poland, France, PRK, Korea, Croatia, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, along with many other strong gymnastics nations.
