Gymnastics South Australia Performance Pathways
Gymnastics South Australia is excited to have two GymSport
Performance Pathway Squads up and running in 2020.
On Saturday 8 & 15 February, Gymnastics SA Trampoline
Gymnastics held their first squad trainings at the SASI Dryland, located inside
the SA Aquatic Centre. With approximately 50 athletes selected into the three
squads, (Development, National Levels and International) the trainings sessions
incorporated goal setting, qualification standards for Australian Championships
skills and skill combination development.
Gymnastics SA Women’s Artistic Gymnastics was additionally
busy engaging with the community with a Development Squad Trial held on the 15th
of February. This trial had 30 athletes from South Australian clubs in
attendance. Selected athletes from the trial will join the other 60 athletes
who have accepted their position on one of the three squads (Development, High
Achievers and Accelerated Gold). We anticipate letting trialling athletes know
of the outcome within the month.
Gymnastics SA is proud to be working with the GymSport Talent Pathways Coordinators, Daniel Lynch (Trampoline) and Danica
Mladenovic (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics) to plan for future development
opportunities to support the development of our athletes and coaches.
Gymnastics SA is currently working with Men’s Artistic
Gymnastics to create a development camp opportunity for 2020.
