Sport Aerobics Activities

Sport Aerobics has its roots in the fitness industry where the sport first began some 10 years ago. Major sponsorship and World Champions such as Marcus lrwin and Sue Stanicy took the sport far beyond the realms of most aerobics class enthusiasts and as such helped re-define the current spectacle that forms Sport Aerobics.

Sport Aerobics can involve participation as an Individual, a Pair, or a Team of three or four athletes.

Routines typically last up to 1 minute fifty seconds and contain a mix of high energy aerobic movements, artistic and difficulty elements.

A Panel of Judges who take into account the combined appeal of the above routine components as well as the execution of all such components judge the sport.

Whilst still developing as a discipline, the ultimate goal for Sport Aerobics is to be included within the Olympic Games program; a goal which is well within reach as Australian athletes and officials continue to prove their worth on both the National and International platform.
